Rushville, New York : ウィキペディア英語版 | Rushville, New York
Rushville is a village in Ontario and Yates Counties in the U.S. state of New York. The population was 677 at the 2010 census. Most of the Village of Rushville is within the Town of Potter in Yates County and a small part is in the Town of Gorham in Ontario County. == History == Elias Gilbert was the first settler in Rushville. Rushville was originally called Federal Hollow. The town was called this because many of Rushville's first settlers were from Massachusetts and favored the Federalist political party. The Village changed the name after the turn of the century when the Jeffersonian party grew more popular, and Rushville was renamed after Dr. Benjamin Rush of Revolutionary fame. Rushville is said to be the first place in America to be named for Jefferson's good friend. The Milton Wilson House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
